Build a Landing Page That Converts: The Section-by-Section Blueprint
A landing page has one job: get the right visitor to take one action. Everything on it should either build the case for that action or remove a reason not to take it.
The proven section order
- Hero: a headline that states the outcome, a subheadline that says who it is for and how, and one primary button.
- Proof strip: numbers, logos or a short quote — whatever honest proof you have.
- Problem: describe the pain in the customer's own words.
- How it works: three steps. People buy what they can picture.
- Benefits: three to six, each tied to an outcome, not a feature.
- Pricing: one clear price, what is included, and a guarantee if you can offer one.
- FAQ: answer the objections you heard in interviews.
- Final call to action: repeat the promise and the button.
Headline formulas that work
- [Outcome] without [pain].
- The [category] for [specific audience].
- [Outcome] in [time frame] — [proof].
Forms: fewer fields, more sign-ups
Every extra field lowers completion. Ask only for what you need to deliver the next step — often just an email. For high-value leads, a short multi-step form performs better than one long form because each step feels small. That is why the Get Launched form on this site uses steps.
Speed and mobile first
Most visitors arrive on phones. Keep images compressed, avoid heavy scripts, make buttons thumb-sized, and check that text is readable without zooming. A static page on free hosting is usually faster than a page builder template.
Trust signals
- A real contact route and an about page.
- Privacy policy and terms linked in the footer.
- Specific claims instead of vague superlatives.
- Clear refund or cancellation terms.
Four-hour checklist
- Write the headline and subheadline (30 min).
- Draft all sections with AI, then rewrite in your voice (60 min).
- Build the page (90 min).
- Connect the form and checkout; test both (30 min).
- Test on two phones and one desktop (30 min).
